Professional Ethics

During a recent robbery in Hong Kong, the bank robber shouted to everyone in the bank:"Don't move. The money belongs to the Government. Your life belongs to you."Everyone in the bank laid down quietly. This is called "Mind Changing Concept” Changing the conventional way of thinking. When a lady lay on the table provocatively, the robber shouted at her:"Please be civilized! This is a robbery and not a rape!"This is called "Being Professional” Focus only on what you are trained to do! When the bank robbers returned home, the younger robber (MBA trained) told the older robber (who has only completed Year 6 in primary school):"Big brother, let's count how much we got."The older robber rebutted and said:"You are very stupid. There is so much money, it will take us a long time to count. Tonight, the TV news will tell us how much we robbed from the bank!"This is called "Experience” Nowadays, experience is more importan...

The frog in the well

The frog in the well is a very common phrase, which we could have been hearing since our childhood.  The frog literally speaking, is very comfortable creature that dwells in the well. Its life is so sheltered that it is very happy, cozy, and does not want to come out of it, though at times, complains of being stuck in a small place.  When it looks up, it perceives that there is a small opening, and believes, there is something fishy up there, but does not want to try because it thinks it is quite risky, perhaps, afraid of others, and stays back where it is and leaving the life to go on. Since birth, our thoughts are so constricted that we are told what we need to do, either by our parents, neighbors, friends, peers, society, etc...  Going beyond these thoughts would mean a sin or crime.  We are so conditioned by these thoughts that we would not dare to think beyond.  We grow up like this. Generally speaking, human mind is so fluid that it does not stop...

Medical transcription, daily bread

Medical transcription is the word that many of us could have come across many times or perhaps, not even heard about it at all.  This article is usual for everyone, for some, the word medical transcription might be a surprising work or bitter pill to swallow because of the nature of its job, perhaps, sedentary, it basically involves lot of hard work and strenuous, and expectancy from the client is very high.  Strictly speaking, only about 5 to 10% of the population in India know about this job.  Frankly speaking, this job is very good and most suitable for people who have good knowledge in medicine and who can speak very good English.  It is also suitable for people, especially girls, because they can work from home, at the comfort of their work station. Now, coming to the point of defining the nature of job, there are two things that are involved, one is typing and one is transcription.  Many of us get perplexed about both terms, everyone thinks, both...

CLAUSES

CLAUSE :  A clause is a group of words that has both a subject and a predicate. Every complete sentence is made up of at least one clause. Michael bought a new computer. (One sentence, one clause) Michael bought a new computer, but he still has the old one. (One sentence, two clauses) Although he still has his old one, Michael now has a new computer. (One sentence, two clauses) AN INDEPENDENT CLAUSE (OR MAIN CLAUSE) makes sense by itself. It expresses a complete thought. Michael bought a new computer. A DEPENDENT CLAUSE (OR SUBORDINATE CLAUSE ) does not make sense by itself. It does not express a complete thought. Although he still has his old one. (Without the independent clause...

Types of sentences

From a cardiovascular standpoint, he has no known history of hypertension, coronary artery disease, or arrhythmias. Clinical examination is unremarkable, but I think, it will be reasonable to proceed with an echocardiographic evaluation. He has not seen a pulmonologist, and since he has symptom of dyspnea, I think it will be reasonable for him to see a pulmonary specialist. Today, the blood pressure is high, but at home, she maintains a perfect blood pressure.  So, I am not going to react to this reading. From a cardiovascular standpoint, she has no new symptoms. History of hypothyroidism, being treated with thyroid supplement. Also, I have reviewed her labs, which are unremarkable. Cardiac wise, no issues. History of CABG, stable, being treated appropriately. The reason is not very clear to me, but even without Cardizem, his blood pressure is 108/70 and his heart rate of 64 beats/min.  So probably, he can be managed without any beta-block...

Pleasant dreams.....

Oh My sweet dreams............. Words.... words... wow! you are so sweet, how! With a basket of flavours and what a wonder, you are so cool and large like ocean waters, We have no container to hold and preserve, My mind like a river has perennial flow of thoughts, in my mind, you keep dancing like waves of ocean, with so many abstract colours, feelings, questions and answers, hmm, sometimes bitter, and at times, delicious to my mouth. Me, standing on the hilltop, and gentle breeze touches my hair. Goosebumps on my hands and thoughts twinkle like diamonds, from dawn to dusk and birth to death, they travel, travel, and travel. I try to dig out from my memory for words once I have learned; like gold, they sparkle, and words sprout from my memory as i speak, like dew drops, they shower and sprinkle pain and joy every second. oh! what a flow, what a marvel, i wish i could fly like a bird and sing, hmm, sometimes, they squeeze hearts, and at times, they soothe.
